Hello and thanks for reading our billboard and taking the time to visit our website! Our goal with the billboard is to proclaim the great truths about Jesus Christ so that everyone can know His message and receive its eternal benefits. Understanding Jesus' message begins with knowing that God exists and that He defines what is right and wrong. So, let's start by tackling this very fundamental question:
How do we know what is right or wrong?
If you answer, "This is something each person must decide for him or herself," then consider that many murderers decided for themselves that their actions were right for them. If you answer, "The government determines what is right and wrong," then keep in mind that civil laws are simply a reflection of the people's individual ideas of right and wrong and that, for example, it was legal in Nazi Germany to persecute and exterminate an entire group of people.
So if there is right and wrong it doesn't come from within ourselves or from the collective will of the people reflected in the civil law - it must come from an authority that is in a position to tell us what is truly and absolutely right and wrong. The person that is in this position of authority is our Creator, and He has told us what the absolute truth is through His message given to us in the Bible. If you want to know the absolute, universal truth, and be able to live a life consistent with absolute truth and in favor with your Creator, then you need to read and understand the Bible. Here are a few basic truths from the Bible that give us an overview of God's absolutely true and authoritative message to us:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God."
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
The soul who sins shall die.
It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.
(God) has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man (Jesus) whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.
(God is) not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (to pay for our sins).
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.
A special note if you are a professing Christian reading this page. Be on guard! One of the biggest deceptions being promoted in many churches is that you can enter the Kingdom of God without living an obedient life - which is the demonstration of your true faith and the Spirit of God living in you. As the Scripture says:
Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment.
